Blog #2: Exhibition of Leonardo da Vinci

Hi! I'm Noriko.
I will talk about an exhibition which many people can enjoy. It is "The Ideal Beauty by Leonardo da Vinci", which is held in Bunkamura in Shibuya from March 30 to June 10. Even if you aren't interested in paintings at all, it's worth seeing because you know him. The real arts often move people who haven't been familiar with it. Moreover, some paintings in this exhibition haven't opened to public before. If you want to get information, click here. This exhibition is not so big and main paintings aren't many either.

It's fine that you just go there and watch them, but it's much better to learn about him before going. In my case, I watched this DVD whose title is "the mysterious life of Leonardo da Vinci".

You can see paintings by Leonardo da Vinci with relaxing music.

Blog#1: My favorite place

Hello, everyone!! How are you doing??
This is Yuki Kasahara. Recently, It's keeping a nice weather in Japan, isn't it? It's neither humid nor deadly hot like the middle of summer. So, I strongly recommend going to picnic. I'm going to introduce "Shinjukugyoen" where I went during Golden Week. It is a perfect picnic place :)

Getting off at the Shinjuku station, you head toward there on foot in 10 minutes through high buildings. Let me give you a suggestion!! You are better purchasing something you want to eat or drink before entering there. You can buy them inside but they are a little expensive. So, I recommend to take your favorite foods and beverages to park. Also, DON'T forget to purchase a ticket!! It's 200yen an adult. ( junior high school or elementary school student : 50yen, infant : Free) Finally, you are ready to go into there. Walking over the beautiful grass, you must forget that here is the heart of Shinjuku. When I went to there with my lovely friends, we did a potluck party. We spent a great time chating over potluck lunch. There were lots of people in the park. For example, there were a family with children, taking a nap business man who wore a suit and necking couples lol. I swear you can spend a great time doing anything you like!! Do you want to go? Check here.
This is a map. It's a huge park.

Beautiful view of nature and buildings

Blog#1: An Annular solar eclipse

Hi everyone, how was your weekend?
I'm Kotaro Yajima. You guys must already know but tomorrow, we will able to see an annular eclipse in Japan. The weather is supposed not to be good but still we can see. It's a very rare phenomenon  that the Sun, and the Moon are in conjunction as seen from the Earth. When it happens, the moon totally or partly block the Sun. This time seen from Japan, the Sun and the Moon is perfectly in a line and the apparent size of the Moon is smaller than that of the Sun so it will look like a golden ring. If you miss this time, you won't see this kind of eclipse for 300 years in Japan so you can't miss this! This video and website explain how this happens.

By the way, a total moon eclipse happened in lat winter and I took lot's of pictures of that phenomenon in a park at midnight, so I post one of best pictures I took.

I am so excited and looking forward to seeing this. See you on next class and talk about this!!

Blog #1: My favorite restaurant

Hi, I'm Shiori. I introduce my favorite restaurant.

It is Italian restaurant, ST.HUBERTUS, in Ginza. And I love its lunch set. You can choose one from 5 or 6 kind of pasta or risotto. All of these are cooked by cheff after order (I mean NOT frozen food), so tasty! And it includes soup, bread, small dessert and drink. They are also so delisious. Do you think how much is this? It is just 1000 yen. Lovely! Oh I forgot to say another good point. In addition to good taste, ST. HUBERTUS has good service. When the customer enter the restaurant, the waiters greet them with comfortable mind. And the waiters pay attention to them well.
That is why I love this restaurant.

Blog#1: Haggis

Hi! I'm Noriko. I'm going to introduce my favorite food.
Do you know Haggis? It's quite an interesting food, which is a traditional Scottish meal.

It looks just minced meat but contains many kinds of meat such as lamb, which basically accounts for 40%, beef and onions and spices. It sounds good, doesn't it? But many people hate or can't eat Haggis. What do you think is the reason? It's because Haggis contains animals' internal organs, such as stomach, heart, brain (!) and so on. Many people refuse eating before they try it, or even if they eat, they can't feel it tasty because of the image. Before I went to Scotland, many people advised me not to eat Haggis though I wanted to try it. So when I tried it, I was careful. But the first word after trying it is "....? It's normal." Yes, actually it's normal, just smell is stronger. In my case, I don't mind if the meat is from internal organs. But everyone that I know hates Haggis. If you have curiosity about this meal, try it!!
I ate it in a pub in Scotland.
You can buy Haggis on the Internet. Check here.
This video shows how to make Haggis. If you are very sensitive about blood or meat, don't watch this video.
